City of Aurora is seeking qualified individuals to join theAurora Police Department as sworn officers. Candidates must possess a valid Illinois Law Enforcement Certification, be a U.S. citizen, and meet the age and education requirements outlined in the posting.

A valid driver’s license and FOID card are required, along with POWER Test certification. The selection process includes interviews, assessments, and a comprehensive background review.

Qualifications

• Must possess a State of Illinois Law Enforcement Certification from ILETSB in good standing.
• Must be at least 23 years old and under 40 at hire.
• Must possess a High School Diploma or GED.
• Must be a U.S. Citizen at appointment.
• Must have a valid Class D driver's license.
• Must possess a valid Illinois FOID card.
• Must have no felony convictions; certain misdemeanors may disqualify.
• Must hold a current POWER Test card issued within last 6 months.

Responsabilités

• Selection components include application review, orientation, panel interview, conditional offer, psychological assessment, background investigation, and medical/drug screening.
