Job summary

Lakewood Police Department is seeking experienced lateral officers for continuous recruitment. Qualified applicants will go through an oral board, background checks, and comprehensive pre-employment requirements including medical, psychological evaluations, and polygraph.

Selected candidates will be referred for interviews with the Chief of Police or designee and undergo a thorough background investigation.

Qualifications

• Lateral (experienced) officers only.
• Online applications and supplemental questions must be completed.
• Minimum passing score of 70% on the oral board examination.

Responsibilities

• Attend regular, reliable, and punctual attendance.
• Conduct police investigations as primary investigator within assigned areas.
• Investigate traffic incidents and direct traffic as needed.
• Provide public with information on laws and ordinances; assist citizens.
