Position Summary:

Police officers are responsible for enforcing local, state, and federal laws, ordinances, and regulations to ensure public safety and maintain order. They must be able to work independently and collaboratively with other law enforcement agencies and external agencies in a wide range of policing functions.

Essential Functions:

• Enforce laws and ordinances through proactive patrolling, investigation, and responding to calls for service.
• Process crime scenes and properly collect, document, and secure evidence.
• Preparation of sworn statements, summonses, incident reports and other detailed and accurate documentation.
• Detain suspects in accordance with legal procedures and department policy.
• Driving police vehicles safely in both emergency and non-emergency situations.
• Perform first response functions, including rescue operations and providing assistance during emergencies.
• Maintain effective communication with the public and represent the department with professionalism and respect.
• Respond to non-crime service calls, such as noise complaints, animal problems, and other community concerns.
