Experienced Physician Assistant –Diagnostic and Interventional Radiology | Manassas, Haymarket, & Culpeper Virginia

Position Overview:

UVA Community Health is seeking an experienced Physician Assistant to join a high-performing Radiology team serving three community hospitals across Northern Virginia. This is a unique opportunity to practice at the intersection of diagnostic and interventional radiology, with a role designed to balance fluoroscopic procedures and image-guided interventions in a dynamic, patient-centered environment. Clinical Responsibilities:

  • Perform real-time fluoroscopic procedures (e.g., barium swallows, upper GI series, esophagrams, joint injections/arthrograms, lumbar punctures, HSGs).
  • Review prior imaging, gather clinical history, and formulate accurate assessment plans.
  • Generate clear, accurate preliminary procedural reports for attending radiologist review.
  • Possess or able to obtain ARRT fluoroscopy training to operate fluoroscopy

Interventional Radiology:

Perform light IR procedures (e.g., paracentesis, thoracentesis, PICC insertions, port removals, lumbar punctures).

  • Conduct daily inpatient rounding for pre- and post-procedural IR patients.

Patient Care & Coordination:

  • Conduct comprehensive pre-procedural histories, physical exams, and lab reviews.
  • Obtain informed consent, thoroughly explaining risks, benefits, and alternatives to patients.
  • Provide post-procedure education and follow-up care instructions to patients and families.

This position will rotate to all 3 Community Health Hospitals located in Manassas, Haymarket, and Culpeper.

Candidate Qualifications:

Virginia licensure (or eligibility)

Fluoroscopy training (VA Board compliant)

Strong clinical judgement, procedural proficiencies, collaborative and communication skills

Experience with diagnostic fluoroscopy, arthrograms, paracentesis, thoracentesis, lumbar punctures, or other image-guided procedures

Prior experience in radiology, interventional radiology preferred

The base compensation range for this role is an hourly rate of $61.28 - $74.82for a 1.0 clinical FTE status. Individual compensation will be determined by fair market value and the selected candidate’s qualifications, clinical experience, specialty training, credentials, and/or education. Please note that the pay range does not include any applicable incentive compensation programs, such as productivity, quality, non-productivity, or other incentives that may be available for eligible positions.
