Job summary

Samsung Austin Semiconductor seeks a Process Engineer for the Photo Team to establish and maintain world-class process/equipment while implementing yield improvements. The role focuses on problem solving, tool qualification, data analysis, and SOP updates in a fast-paced, 24x7 manufacturing environment in Austin, TX.

Candidates should hold a BS/MS in engineering or related fields, have Python scripting experience, and be comfortable working in a cleanroom with PPE; cross-functional collaboration

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master’s degree in a relevant engineering/physics/chemistry field with strong academic record.
• Experience scripting in Python or equivalent language and using statistical methods.
• Familiarity with Lean, TPS or 5S principles and structured problem solving.

Responsibilities

• Monitor wafer fabrication process and respond to inline issues and dispositions of production wafers.
• Qualify wafer fabrication processes on new tools and coordinate process qualifications and downtime with manufacturing/equipment engineering.
• Analyze data with software to identify trends and inform processing decisions; implement inline process changes and revise SOPs.

Position Summary

The Photo Team at Samsung Austin Semiconductor is seeking a process engineer interested in working alongside a talented team of professionals with a key focus on establishing and maintaining world class process/equipment and implementing yield enhancement as a competitive advantage along with ability to identify complex problems and implementing solutions.

Role and Responsibilities

Here’s What You’ll Be Responsible For:

• Monitoringthewaferfabricationprocessbyrespondingtoin-lineissuesanddispositionsofproductionwafers.
• Qualifyingwaferfabricationprocessesonnewtools.
• Coordinatingtheschedulingofprocessqualificationsandequipmentdowntimewithmanufacturingorequipmentengineering.
• Usingsoftwaretoanalyzedata,identifytrendstomakedecisionsaboutprocessingproduct.
• Makingadjustmentswhenprocessparametersareexceededandmonitorsprocessparameterswhentoolsreturnfrommaintenance.
• Executinginlinechanges(CPM)totheprocessorequipment.
• Communicatingtechnicalinformationwithinthedepartmentthroughpresentations.
• ContinuouslyrevisingStandardOperatingProcedures(SOPs).
• Developingimprovedprocessestoincreasecapability.

• UnderstandingofLean,TPS,or5Sprinciples.
• StructuredProblemSolving(8D,7-step,etc.).
• ExperiencewithSoftwareDataAnalysissoftware(Spotfire,JMP,Matlab,etc.).
• AbilitytowearcleanroomsuitandPersonalProtectiveEquipment(PPE),andabilitytolift<35lbsaswellasworkintightfitting,FABenvironmentandsitatacomputerterminal,usesacomputerforextendedperiodsoftime.
• Vision-Maybeexposedtoyellowlights,blinkinglightsandabilitytodiscernaudiblealarms.
• Potentialtoworkwithmaterialswhichcontainhazardouschemicals.
• Abilitytosupportand/orworkshiftdutiesina24x7manufacturingenvironment.

The current base salary range for this role is between $95,000 - $120,000. Individual base pay rates will depend on factors including duties, work location, education, skills, qualifications and experience. Total compensation for this position will include a competitive benefits package and may include participation in company incentive compensation programs, which are based on factors to include organizational and individual performance.
