Job summary

Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) seeks a Digital Design Engineer to join our team in Huntsville, AL and contribute to the PAC-3 program by designing high-speed digital circuits and validating complex PCBs across the full development cycle.

The role requires a BS in engineering, 3+ years of experience in digital design, and the ability to obtain US security clearances. US citizenship is required; relocation is available based on eligibility.

Qualifications

Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) seeks a Digital Design Engineer to join our team in Huntsville, AL and play a vital role in the Patriot Advanced Capability-3 (PAC-3) program, one of the world's most advanced air and missile defense systems. Position Responsibilities:

• Design high speed digital circuits and perform signal integrity analysis
• Focus on electronic systems and electrical design, simulation and verification/validation testing of high-speed printed circuit boards (PCB) throughout full product development cycle
• Providing design guidelines and support for system architecture design, board layout, product bring-up, debug, validation, and factory builds

This position requires obtaining a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim U.S. secret clearance Pre Start and final U.S. secret clearance Post Start is required.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

• Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering (with a focus in Electrical, Mechanical or Aeronautical), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement
• 3 or more years of related work experience
• Experience in digital circuit design

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

• Bachelor’s or higher in Electrical Engineering
• Ability to develop design verification plan and perform system integration
• Experience in high-speed digital circuit design with ability to perform signal integrity simulations for multiple high-speed standards like 100G Ethernet, DDR3/4, PCIe
• Experience in processor board design or complex digital design including processor or FPGA System on a chip (SoC)
• Perform circuit analysis and circuit design and digital circuit design in LTSpice or similar
• Familiar with high-speed serial interface protocol like ethernet, PCIe
• Experience in FPGA sizing and power to support board design
• Strong understanding of PCB in design for manufacturing (DFM)
• Ability to perform post board layout signal integrity analysis
• Ability to perform digital high speed design verification and validation including measurements
• Ability to mentor others and guide other in digital high-speed design and analysis
• Experience in schematic capture using Siemen (formally Mentor Graphic) Expedition Tool
• Ability to operate as electrical lead to coordinate the rest of the electrical design team for complex custom electronic systems
