Jobot, a well known regional firm, seeks a Workers' Compensation Attorney in New York, NY. This permanent on-site role offers growth in a collaborative team and a comprehensive benefits package.

You will manage complex workers' compensation matters, advocate before the Workers' Compensation Board, review medical records, and develop case strategies. 5+ years of NY workers' compensation experience and NY Bar admission are required.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor from an accredited law school and active NY State Bar admission.
• At least 5 years of attorney experience handling workers' compensation matters.
• Experience representing clients at WCB hearings and handling appeals.
• Strong knowledge of NYS Workers' Compensation Law and relevant regulations.
• Experience reviewing medical records and using medical evidence for case strategy.
• Excellent research, writing, negotiation, and oral advocacy skills.
• Ability to manage multiple cases with deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Manage workers' compensation cases from initial review through hearings, appeals, and resolution.
• Represent clients at WCB hearings, presenting evidence, examining witnesses, and delivering persuasive legal arguments.
• Prepare and pursue WCB appeals, including drafting briefs, applications, and other required submissions.
• Analyze and apply NYS Workers' Compensation Law, relevant regulations, and applicable case law to develop sound litigation strategies.
• Review medical records, expert reports, employment documentation, and other evidence to evaluate claims and identify critical issues.
• Conduct and defend depositions, including questioning medical providers and other witnesses.
• Draft legal correspondence, motions, settlement documents, and other case-related materials.
• Advise clients on case developments, legal options, potential exposure, and resolution strategies.
• Negotiate settlements that align with client objectives and applicable legal requirements.
• Maintain accurate case files, meet filing deadlines, and manage a demanding litigation calendar.
