Job summary

The Greater Beverly YMCA is seeking a Morning Gymnastics Instructor to lead age-appropriate classes for youth in a safe, fun, and progressive program. This part-time role emphasizes growth from preschool to school-age activities, with mornings available 8:30am–12:30pm.

You'll demonstrate skills, supervise equipment, and build strong relationships with families while delivering engaging instruction and contributing to a positive team atmosphere.

Qualifications

• Available mornings: Mon–Thu 8:30am–12:30pm, and/or Sat 8am–2pm.
• Must be at least 16 years old.
• Teaching experience and ability to work with kids.

Responsibilities

About the Role

As a Gymnastics Instructor, you’ll play a key role in creating a safe, fun, and progressive learning experience for youth participants. From introductory classes for preschool‑aged children to skill‑building sessions for school‑aged youth, you’ll help students grow in confidence and ability.

Responsibilities

• Leading engaging, age‑appropriate classes that encourage skill development and a love for movement.
• Providing clear demonstrations and instruction for a range of gymnastics skills.
• Ensuring a safe environment by supervising activities and maintaining proper equipment setup and takedown.
• Building strong, positive relationships with participants and families to support their personal growth and development.

Qualifications

• Must be available in the mornings: Monday‑Thursday 8:30am‑12:30pm, and/or Saturday 8am‑2pm.
• Must be a minimum of 16 years of age.
• Must have teaching experience and work well with kids.

Environmental Factors

• Must be able to see and hear an emergency.
• Ability to lift equipment and maneuver equipment and weight up to 55 lbs or that of a small to average size child.
• Must be able to navigate the uneven surfaces on the gym floor.
