Job summary

Samsung Austin Semiconductor is seeking a Module Integration Engineer to bridge unit process development with device performance on the 2nm GAAFET program. You will own RPMG and CTSDB module integration, interfacing lithography, etch, deposition, and device physics to ensure gate stack and contact module success.

The role requires collaboration with process and design teams, DOE execution, and data-driven yield analysis using Python, Spotfire, and Minitab.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in a relevant field; industry experience acceptable in place of degree.
• Ph.D. preferred in related field.
• 2–3 years of relevant experience preferred but not required.
• Strong MOSFET/GAAFET physics understanding and interfacial physics knowledge.
• Experience with semiconductor processes (ALD/CVD, etch, CMP).
• Proficiency in Python, R, SQL for data automation and visualization.
• Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills for data presentation.
• Experience with Spotfire or Minitab for yield and process analysis.
• Awareness or experience with Waterfall and Agile workflows; Confluence/Jira experience.

Responsibilities

• Module ownership: integrate and optimize RPMG and CTSDB modules to meet specs.
• Collaborate with unit process engineers to address risks and optimize processes.
• Design of Experiments to evaluate process variations on electrical performance.
• Perform advanced metrology analysis to identify root causes and corrective actions.
• Leverage statistical software to analyze large datasets and correlate parameters with yield.
• Participate in cross-functional reviews with Device and Layout teams for manufacturability.

Position Summary

We are seeking a motivated and high-caliber Module Integration Engineer to join our 2nm GAAFET team. This role focuses on the Front-End-of-Line (FEOL) integration, specifically targeting the RPMG (Replacement Metal Gate) and CTSDB (PC and NS isolation) modules. As we transition from FinFET to GAAFET (Gate-All-Around FET) architecture, you will play a critical role in bridging the gap between unit process development and overall device performance. You will work at the intersection of lithography, etch, deposition, and device physics to ensure the successful integration of the gate stack and contact modules for the next generation of computing.

• ProcessIntegration:Collaboratewithunitprocessengineers(Etch,CVD,ALD,CMP,Litho)torespondeffectivelytoanymodulerisksorissuesrelatedtoprocesscontrolandoptimization.
• Characterization&Analysis:ExecuteandanalyzeDOE(DesignofExperiments)toevaluatetheimpactofprocessvariationsonelectricalperformance.
• FailureAnalysis:Understandadvancedmetrologyandanalysisdata(TEM,SEM,AFM,EDX)foridentifyrootcausesofmodulefailuresandimplementcorrectiveactions.
• DataManagement:Leveragestatisticalsoftware(e.g.,CloudDataSources,Spotfire,Python,etc.)toanalyzelargedatasetsandcorrelateprocessparameterswithdeviceyield.
• Cross-FunctionalCollaboration:ParticipateindesignreviewsandsynchronizationmeetingswiththeDeviceandLayoutteamstoensuremanufacturability.

The current base salary range for this role is between $95,000 - $120,000. Individual base pay rates will depend on factors including duties, work location, education, skills, qualifications and experience. Total compensation for this position will include a competitive benefits package and may include participation in company incentive compensation programs, which are based on factors to include organizational and individual performance.
