Samsung Austin Semiconductor seeks an equipment engineer to join a skilled team focused on establishing and maintaining world-class inspection and measurement equipment. The role emphasizes yield enhancement and solving complex problems with actionable solutions.

You will implement and optimize processes in a fast-paced semiconductor environment, using data-driven insights and cross-functional collaboration to deliver performance improvements.

Qualifications

• BS or MS in Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, Materials Science, or Computer Science.
• 2+ years semiconduct or experience (Metrology equipment preferred).
• Experience troubleshooting equipment or process failures.
• Exposure to structured problem solving (8D, 7-step, etc).
• Understanding of statistical methods.
• Experience scripting in Python, VBA, or equivalent.
• Experience with data analysis software (Spotfire, JMP, Matlab, etc.).
• Good presentation and technical writing skills.
• Understanding of Change Point Management and Lean, TPS, or 5S principles.
• Ability to wear cleanroom suit and PPE per SASFAB protocol and lift up to 25 lbs.
• Eligible to work in the US without sponsorship.
• Willing to relocate to Austin, Texas.

Responsabilités

• Monitor wafer fabrication equipment and respond to issues.
• Qualify new manufacturing equipment.
• Coordinate scheduling of equipment qualifications and downtime with manufacturing.
• Use software to analyze data and identify trends for processing decisions.
• Make adjustments when parameters exceed and monitor processes after maintenance.
• Execute inline process/equipment changes (CPM).
• Communicate technical information within the department via presentations.
• Continuously revise SOPs.
• Develop improved processes to increase capability.
• Monitor operations costs and develop cost-reduction projects.

The current base salary range for this role is between $95,000 - $120,000. Individual base pay rates will depend on factors including duties, work location, education, skills, qualifications and experience. Total compensation for this position will include a competitive benefits package and may include participation in company incentive compensation programs, which are based on factors to include organizational and individual performance.
