Job summary

KerixHealth is seeking a certified or registered Medical Assistant to join our care team in Deerfield, IL. You will work under physician supervision for clinical care and under the Director of Patient Success for administrative tasks.

Responsibilities include phlebotomy, patient greeting, vital signs, specimen collection, medication administration, and coordinating referrals and records in the EMR system.

Qualifications

• Certification or registration as Medical Assistant is required.
• Proficiency in phlebotomy.
• Minimum 4 years in a Medical Assistant role.
• Computer skills: Google Docs, Apple computers, EMR data entry, and learning new software (PDF organizers, Quest lab system).
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Excellent customer service.
• Flexible, positive, can-do attitude.
• US work authorization.

Responsibilities

• Greets and rooms all patients.
• Performs vital signs and specimen collection for lab testing.
• Schedules specialty appointments, x-rays, and procedures.
• Administers medications intradermally, subcutaneously, and intramuscularly.
• Provides case management and coordinates referrals.
• Obtains medical records and scans into the EMR.
• Responds to referrals per protocol.
• Participates in daily clinical meetings.
• Orders and restocks exam rooms.
• Ensures exam rooms are clean and ready for visits.
• Organizes outside medical records in the EMR.
• Conducts routine quality control and waived lab testing.
