Allegria Village in Dearborn, MI is seeking a dedicated Medication Technician to support residents in our assisted living community. The role offers both full-time and part-time opportunities across morning, afternoon, and night shifts.

Applicants should have at least 1 year of experience as a Med Tech in an assisted living or skilled nursing setting, with a valid Med Tech certification and strong English communication skills. CPR preferred.

• Med Tech Certification.
• Strong English communication skills (verbal and written).
• HIPAA confidentiality and resident privacy knowledge.
• High school diploma or GED required.

Responsabilidades

• Assist residents with the self-administration of prescribed medications.
• Follow the Six Rights of Medication Administration (right resident, drug, dose, time, route, and documentation).
• Monitor resident health (vital signs, symptoms) and promptly report any concerns.
• Record medication administration accurately in the MAR.
• Ensure medication carts, cabinets, and rooms are organized, clean, and fully stocked.
• Audit medication carts daily and ensure timely medication reorders.
• Communicate effectively with residents, families, physicians, and staff.
• Provide companionship and emotional support to residents.
• Respect residents’ rights to dignity, privacy, and medication refusal.
• Identify and report any adverse reactions or health concerns.
• Help prevent infection through proper procedures and hygiene.
• Maintain documentation and complete paperwork in a timely and efficient manner.
• Support residents’ evolving care needs with prompt attention.
• Other duties as assigned.

Key Responsibilities:

Qualifications:

• At least 6 months of Medication Tech experience

• Med Tech Certification

• Strong interpersonal and customer service skills

• Ability to act quickly and appropriately in emergency situations

• Effective communication skills (verbal and written in English)

• Ability to maintain resident confidentiality and uphold HIPAA standards

Education & Certification:

• High school diploma or GED required

• CPR certification preferred

Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to lift at least 30 lbs

• Frequent walking, standing, bending, pushing, pulling, and typing

• May have exposure to individuals with communicable diseases
