We are seeking experienced Marine Carpenters to join our team in Savannah, GA. Responsibilities

• Transfer dimensions to marine plywood and other construction materials using tape measure, square, and marking/layout devices.
• Make accurate cuts of wood and other materials using table and chop saws and other related power tools.
• Read and interpret blueprints accurately.
• Troubleshoot leaks, squeaks, warps, and recommend appropriate repairs.
• Layout, cut, and assemble boat parts, such as doors, paneling, boxes, rails, and trim.
• Install prefabricated or custom parts such as hatches, marine hardware, metal trim, seats, and other components.
• Possess good working knowledge of woodworking joints in the marine industry, such as scarf, sill splice, lap, finger, and dovetail joints.
• Use epoxies, vinylester resins, or other adhesives for bonding parts and performing basic fiberglass repairs.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required; coursework in wood and/or metals preferred.
• At least twelve (12) months of carpentry experience, with knowledge of various woods, finish cabinetry, and adhesives.
