In this role, you will maintain mechanical and electronic equipment while ensuring compliance with safety standards. Shift

Night Shift: 6pm – 6am

Responsibilities

• Create and maintain a culture where workplace safety is a part of everything we do.
• Provide the safest possible workplace to our employees by modeling and following all company safety policies and reporting any incidents or unsafe conditions immediately to Silfex management.
• Ensure operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements on engines, motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, and production machines; follow diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturer’s instructions, and engineering specifications; troubleshoot malfunctions.
• Perform essential maintenance and preventive maintenance on all equipment.
• Locate sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation, listening for problems, and using precision measuring and testing instruments.
• Conserve maintenance resources by using equipment and supplies as needed to accomplish job results.
• Provide mechanical maintenance information by answering questions, requests, and recording maintenance operations.
• Assist other team members on occasion to gain insight and the skills needed to advance in the maintenance tech role.
• Fabricate and install components for repair as needed on multiple pieces of manufacturing equipment.
• Maintain equipment, parts, and supplies inventories by checking stock to determine inventory levels and update the CMM accordingly.
• Ensure production operations by determining work priorities, scheduling repair and maintenance, and completing maintenance activities on and modifications to plant equipment as needed.
• Resolve maintenance problems by conferring with operators, management, engineering, and quality control personnel, outside contractors and service personnel.
• Protect employees and visitors by maintaining a safe and clean building; recognize and rectify potential unsafe conditions.
• Follow all company safety policies, perform all work‑related tasks in a safe manner, and report any unsafe conditions to Silfex management.
• Maintain a basic understanding of lean manufacturing concepts, including 5S.
• Contribute to a team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
• Develop and maintain a working knowledge of the Silfex Quality Management System and properly apply quality procedures and operating procedures as appropriate.
• Maintain technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, establishing personal networks, and participating in technical decision making.
• Strive for continuous improvement in all aspects of job performance, education, processes, procedures, and methods.
• Act as a key member of the emergency response team.
• Perform minor aspects of electrical installation.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or a General Education Degree (GED) is required.
• 3+ years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment with knowledge and understanding of industrial maintenance, electrical and mechanical systems.
• Understanding of pneumatics, hydraulics, and electrical systems.
• Strong desire to learn.
• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
• Ability to read and understand electrical schematics.
• Capable of following detailed written or oral instructions.
• Ability to troubleshoot manufacturing equipment and basic troubleshooting of CNC equipment.
• Application of standard practices and techniques within work procedures.
• Ability to work effectively individually and in a team environment, be quality and safety minded, and perform successfully under minimum supervision.
• Basic understanding of automation.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and troubleshoot electrical systems using various pieces of equipment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Working toward or have completed an associate’s degree in maintenance/engineering field.
• Completion of a certification from a technical or trade school.
• Experience using Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Knowledge of 5S and lean manufacturing.
