Job summary

Euclid Heat Treating seeks an Experienced Maintenance Technician to join our team in Euclid, OH. The role focuses on routine preventative maintenance, furnace and equipment repairs, and large-scale projects in a manufacturing environment.

Shift is Monday–Friday, 7:30am–4:00pm, with no mandatory OT. The ideal candidate has five years of relevant experience, strong mechanical aptitude, and the ability to read blueprints, troubleshoot electrical systems, and work safely with PPE.

Qualifications

• Minimum of five (5) years relevant work experience in manufacturing, Heat Treating, Electrical Maintenance, Millwright, or related field.
• Strong mechanical aptitude enabling safe operation of equipment and tools.
• Proven reliability and willingness to learn in prior roles.
• Ability to work in shop/outdoor conditions (hot/cold, dirty).

Responsibilities

• Dismantles, installs, troubleshoots, repairs, and maintains industrial heating equipment and related devices.
• Installs and maintains electrical devices, compressed air, and natural gas systems.
• Performs preventive maintenance and adheres to safety procedures.
• Reads blueprints and schematics to determine procedures.
• Complete basic welding and fabricates replacement parts as needed.

Experienced Maintenance Technician

Reports to: Maintenance Manager

A family-owned commercial heat treater is looking for an Experienced Maintenance Technician to join our team. We seek a reliable employee who wants to learn and grow with a stable company. We are seeking a millwright or skilled industrial mechanic type person to assist with routine preventative maintenance, furnace and other equipment repairs, and large-scale projects.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Dismantles, installs, troubleshoots, repairs, and maintains industrial heating equipment, pumps, indexes, motors, electrical and mechanical controls and devices, blasting machines, cranes, PLC's and other related equipment.
• Installs and maintains electrical devices, compressed air, and natural gas within the facility.
• Performs preventive maintenance on assigned equipment within the facility.
• Applies safe operating procedures during the performance of work.
• Accurately completes written records and maintain logs as required.
• Proper use and operation of materials, tools, and supplies.
• Reads blueprints and schematic drawings to determine work procedures.
• Maintain hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
• Thread pipe, soldering, and brazing copper pipe.
• Ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams for electrical work.
• Ability to use Voltmeters and Amp meters to test circuits.
• Measure, cut, bend, and run electrical conduit and wiring.
• Troubleshoot electrical problems.
• Inspect machinery to diagnose malfunctions in equipment, repair replace defective equipment as necessary.
• Fabricate replacement parts when necessary.
• Maintains tools and equipment and keeps supplies and parts in order.
• Disassembles defective electrical equipment, replaces defective or worn parts, and reassembles equipment.
• Complete basic welding tasks.
• Cleans work area, machines, tools, and equipment.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• A minimum of five (5) years relevant work experience in a manufacturing environment in the field(s) of Heat Treating, Electrical Maintenance, Millwright, Industrial Furnace Repair, or other related industry.
• Strong mechanical aptitude that will enable safe operation of a variety of equipment and tools.
• A proven track record of reliability and learning in previous roles.
• Ability to withstand shop and outdoor conditions (hot/cold, dirty)
• Ability to work as a team, able to switch activities as needs arise, willingness to perform tasks ranging from simple to complex
• Effective verbal communication with team members, other employees, and supervisors.
• Basic computer and technology skills, including use of a tracking station, time clock, etc.
• Additional education or certifications is a plus.

Physical Demands:

• Stand, walk, push, pull, squat, bend, and reach repeatedly during shifts
• Use forklifts, dollies, cranes, and jacks to transport material if needed
• Must be able to regularly lift and or move up to 40 lbs.
• Climbing ladders and stairs to reach work areas
• Tolerate extreme temperatures impacted by weather and heat treating machinery
• Wear and adhere to all PPE guidelines including protective eye wear, ear plugs, respirators, and steel toe footwear.
