Machinist Level 3 Responsibilities:

  • Set up, program, and operate various industrial machines to form, cut, bend, and machine aerospace components from Nickel, Stainless, and Titanium alloys.
  • Perform complex machining operations, operate multiple machine types, and produce tooling components and assemblies with tight tolerances or high-quality finishes.
  • Use hand tools and measuring instruments for fitting and assembly.
  • Possess familiarity with material properties and may program CNC machines.
  • Identify and suggest solutions for faulty processes.
  • Follow instructions, sketches, drawings, and documents accurately.
  • Ensure safety standards and proper documentation are maintained.
  • Demonstrate basic operations to others with supervisor approval.
  • Work independently under limited supervision and perform additional duties as needed.

Skills, Education, and Experience:

  • Ability to read manufacturing plans, blueprints, and specifications.
  • Basic understanding of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing.
  • Knowledge of machine setup and tooling.
  • Manual dexterity and familiarity with machine tools and precision instruments.
  • Ability to perform shop mathematics.
  • Experience with multiple machine types or specialized single-purpose machines is preferred.

Working Conditions:

  • Operate equipment safely, using PPE such as safety glasses, face shields, hearing protection, and gloves.

Physical Requirements:

  • Physical activities include lifting up to 50 pounds, climbing, balancing, and handling materials.
  • Position is subject to U.S. export compliance requirements.
