Job summary

JW Hicks, Inc. in Knox, Indiana seeks an Experienced Machine Operator for 2nd Shift to support refractory manufacturing. You will operate mixers, load presses, and ensure proper shaping and density of refractory products.

Requires 2–5 years of related experience, a high school diploma, and the ability to pass a post-offer physical and drug screen. We offer a Monday-Thursday afternoon/evening schedule with overtime on Fridays, and a pay rate of $19.00–$25.00 per hour with a $1.25/hr shift premium

Responsibilities

• Maintain traceability of raw materials and products.
• Document production in writing and via computer entry.
• Keep work area and equipment clean and orderly.
• Perform other duties as assigned by Supervisor.

Requirements

Experienced Machine Operator Responsibilities:

• Operate mixers and add minor ingredients to batch raw materials to prepare for pressing
• Operate presses to form mixed materials into refractory shapes, adjusting to achieve proper shape, dimension and density
• Perform press die changes and load press programs
• Maintain raw material and product identification to insure traceability
• Document production manually and through computer entry
• Maintain work area and equipment in a neat and orderly condition
• Perform other duties as requested by Supervisor

Experienced Machine Operator Minimum Requirements

• 2-5 years' experience operating machinery and equipment
• Mechanical and mathematical aptitude
• Ability to use precision measuring equipment
• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Must pass a post-offer, pre-employment physical and drug screen prior to employment

Experienced Machine Operator Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with robotics in manufacturing
• Familiarity with forklift and overhead crane operations and rigging
• Competence in interpreting mechanical drawings
