Job description

Compensation: $20.00

VCA North Plano Animal Hospital, located in Plano, Texas, is seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Veterinary Technician, LVT, or Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate must be 18 years or older, comfortable handling animals, providing excellent client care, and demonstrating compassion for our pet patients. Attention to detail, multitasking abilities, good communication skills, and a willingness to learn are essential. We are willing to train the right person for a rewarding career in veterinary medicine.

In this role, you will support our Doctors and Technician team by creating a positive, low-stress environment for clients and patients. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Patient husbandry
  • Assisting veterinarians
  • Vaccine administration
  • Blood draws
  • IV catheter placement
  • Subcutaneous fluid administration
  • Routine dental cleanings and dental X-rays
  • Digital diagnostic imaging
  • Nail trims and anal gland expression
  • Maintaining medical records
  • Restraint of canine and feline patients
  • Preparing and cleaning the surgical suite
  • Assisting with surgical procedures
  • Filling prescriptions
  • Laboratory work
  • Follow-up calls to clients
  • Answering phones and scheduling appointments
