Role Description

The Experienced Litigation Associate will handle a variety of civil litigation matters, including drafting pleadings, motions, and discovery responses, as well as managing case files from inception through resolution. Daily responsibilities include conducting legal research, preparing memoranda, and analyzing complex legal issues to support case strategy. The role involves taking and defending depositions, appearing in state and federal courts, and communicating with clients, opposing counsel, and courts in a professional and timely manner. The associate will collaborate with partners and colleagues on case strategy, attend meetings, and contribute to the firm’s commitment to high-quality client service. This is a full-time, on-site position based in Lexington, KY.

Qualifications
  • Strong foundation in Law, including civil litigation procedures and applicable state and federal rules.
  • 2-5 years of relevant experience
  • Proficiency in drafting and arguing Motions, pleadings, and other litigation-related documents.
  • Advanced Research skills for case law, statutes, regulations, and fact investigation.
  • Experience conducting and defending Depositions, including preparation of witnesses and analysis of testimony.
  • Prior practice in Courts, with experience handling hearings, pre-trial conferences, and trial preparation.
  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school and active license to practice law in Kentucky (or eligibility for prompt admission).
  • Excellent written and oral advocacy skills, strong analytical abilities, and attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple matters, meet deadlines, and work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Experience as a litigation associate or comparable role; background in business or commercial litigation is a plus.
  • Commitment to ethical practice, client service, and ongoing professional development.
