Job summary

Sancho's Tacos Laguna Niguel is hiring a part-time cook to join our team. We seek someone with 3+ years of restaurant cooking experience, strong knife skills, and solid communication in a fast-paced kitchen. Must hold a food handler's permit and be able to lift up to 50 pounds.

This position offers opportunities for growth and a supportive team environment. Typical duties include setting up the cook station, following recipes, restocking, and maintaining sanitation throughout the shift.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in a restaurant cook position.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
• Strong communication skills.
• Must have some knowledge of knife skills.
• Understanding of restaurant KDS system.
• Food handler's permit required.
• Physical demands: standing/walking, lift up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Set up cook station and prepare all food items promptly according to guidelines, including health and sanitation standards.
• Follow recipes, portion controls, and presentation specifications as set by the restaurant.
• Restock, clean, and maintain cook station items throughout the shift with safety and sanitation in mind.
• Assist with cleaning, sanitation, and organization of kitchen, walk-in coolers, and storage areas.
• Keep track of and report all food that is wasted.
• Ensure compliance with company policies and laws, including health and safety standards.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by Management.

Requirements

• Physical demands of the job include but are not limited to:
  • Standing and walking during entire shift
  • Reaches, bends, stoops, lifts, shakes, stirs, pours, and carries supplies
  • Must be able to lift to 50 pounds in weight regularly (weight may vary)

Duties include but are not limited to:

• Set up cook station and prepare all food items promptly according to guidelines, including health and sanitation standards.
• Follow recipes, portion controls, and presentation specifications as set by Sancho’s Tacos.
• Restock, clean, and maintain cook station items as needed throughout the shift, while practicing exceptional safety, sanitation, and organizational skills.
• Assist with the cleaning, sanitation, and organization of the kitchen, walk-in coolers, and all storage areas, adhering to proper food storage procedures.
• Keep track of and report all food that is wasted.
• Ensure compliance with all Company policies and laws, including health and safety standards.
• Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned by Management staff.
