Job summary

The YMCA of Metropolitan Atlanta is seeking a Lifeguard II to assist the Aquatic Director in supervising the pool area and ensuring safety for all members. You will work as part of a trained aquatic team, modeling standards, and providing excellent customer service.

Requirements include 2+ years lifeguarding, YMCA Lifeguard Certification with CPR/AED/First Aid, Leader Certificate within 90 days, and the ability to work with diverse populations. Pre-employment checks are required.

Qualifications

• Minimum age 18.
• Minimum 2 years of lifeguarding experience.
• Current YMCA Lifeguard Certification, CPR, AED and First Aid.
• YMCA Leader Certificate obtained within 90 days.
• Physically perform all skills required of a lifeguard.
• Ability to work with diverse populations.
• Pass pre-employment background check including criminal record, drug screen, MVR and references.
• Legally eligible to work in the US without sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Assist with maintaining a safe aquatic area.
• Coordinate lifeguard placements and rotations.
• Open/close pools and assist with pool chemistry.
• Act as a lifeguard during shift.
• Respond to incidents and document them; provide customer service.
• Attend monthly in-service trainings.
• Support Aquatic Director as needed.
