Job summary

Ingram Marine Group is seeking experienced deckhands for Line haul/Fleet operations. You must have towboat experience and be willing to work at various river segments or vessel types as needed.

You will arrange your own transportation to and from hitches and participate in deck operations and support for tow construction and vessel maintenance. You will perform tow building, vessel housekeeping, locking procedures, and rigging tasks, while staying aware of safety drill requirements and company

  • Be able to work in confined spaces often entered through a manhole.
  • Be able to climb a ladder and board and ride in a skiff.

Responsibilities

  • Assisting deck crew in tow building (laying wires, tightening ratchets, sweeping and shoveling barges)
  • Daily vessel housekeeping (sweeping, mopping and cleaning crew living quarters)
  • Assisting with locking procedures
  • Carrying rigging (ratchets, wires and straps); pumps, hoses and lines as needed
  • Working outdoors for extended periods in various weather conditions
  • Checking barges for water and leaks; may require entering confined spaces
  • Upkeep of vessel appearance (washing, chipping and painting)
  • Assisting the engineer as requested
  • Practicing safe crew, vessel and tow operation using Ingram safety systems
  • Participating in safety drills and audits
  • Performing other related duties as assigned or requested

Job Description

Ingram Marine Group is looking to recruit experienced deckhands for our Line haul/Fleet operations.

Before applying please note: Must have Towboat Experience. You may be assigned to any river segment or vessel type based on company needs at the time of hire. As an Ingram associate, you will be responsible for arranging your own transportation to and from your hitches.

You will be involved in deck operations and support for tow construction and vessel maintenance as part of a crew.
