Experienced Intake / Verification Specialist

Join AIS Healthcare as an Experienced Intake / Verification Specialist. We are seeking a motivated professional with at least 3 years of intake and verification experience to join our team.

Position Overview

The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, in-depth knowledge of collection practices, and the ability to work in compliance with federal and state regulations related to benefit verification and authorization activities.

Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • 3-5 years of healthcare industry experience preferred.
  • Experience in Home Infusion and Intrathecal Pain Management is a plus.
Responsibilities
  • Manage patient insurance eligibility and benefits across various payers such as Aetna, Cigna, BCBS, Humana, Worker’s Comp, Medicare, and Medicaid.
  • Handle authorization processes including GAPs, pre-determinations, PCP referrals, and single case agreements.
  • Accurately enter insurance and authorization data into EHR systems.
  • Follow up on pending or expired authorizations and referrals.
  • Review and appeal authorization denials.
  • Document all calls and interactions per SOPs.
  • Maintain confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations.
  • Stay informed about NDC numbers, infusion supplies, and medical billing procedures.
  • Collaborate with team members and communicate effectively with stakeholders.

  • Good judgment in complex situations, understanding of laws and regulations.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Integrity, credibility, and a strong work ethic.
  • Organized, detail-oriented, and self-motivated.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
