Job summary

IES is seeking a Lead HVAC Service Technician to join our Central Florida team. This full-time role offers $25-$35/hr base plus commissions, with a $2,500 sign-on bonus and a pre-approved list of tools valued up to $1,000.

We provide a no on-call schedule, allowing you to plan your life outside of work. You’ll work on high-end residential and light commercial systems, delivering white-glove service while mentoring junior techs and maintaining a professional fleet.

Qualifications

• Residential HVAC diagnostics and service experience.
• EPA Type II or Universal certification is required.
• Florida driver’s license valid.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair residential and light commercial HVAC systems.
• Deliver white-glove customer service while solving complex system issues.
• Perform high-level maintenance and tune-ups for system longevity and performance.
• Educate clients on system care, energy efficiency, and service options.
• Document service visits with digital tools and maintain records.
• Adhere to safety and compliance standards.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and professional company vehicle and workspace.
• Collaborate with dispatch, installers, and team members to ensure excellent customer experiences.
• Assist with training and mentoring junior technicians when needed.

What You’ll Be Doing

Specific Qualifications

What We’re Looking For

• Proven experience in residential HVAC diagnostics, repair, and service
• Strong troubleshooting skills and technical knowledge
• EPA Certification (Type II or Universal preferred)
• Clean and valid Florida driver’s license
• Own high-quality tools and know how to use them
• Respect for the craft, the team, and the customer
• Must pass drug screen and background check (we’re professional, and so are you)

Physical Requirements & Work Environment

Must be able to lift up to 75 pounds and work in attics, crawl spaces, rooftops, and outdoor Florida conditions. Position requires frequent standing, bending, climbing ladders, and use of HVAC tools and equipment while working safely in environments exposed to heat, dust, noise, and mechanical hazards.
