Grant Mechanical, Inc. in Traverse City, MI is seeking an HVAC Retrofit Installer to replace and upgrade old heating, cooling, and ventilation systems with modern, efficient equipment.

You will install air conditioners, furnaces, boilers, ductless systems, water heaters, and related components, and ensure seamless integration for high-performance operation. This role supports residential and light commercial projects with overtime opportunities and a strong focus on safety.

Qualifications

• Boiler experience is preferred.
• At least 2 years of HVAC experience, including light commercial work.
• Valid driver license required.
• Insurable driving record required.
• Strong problem solving and critical thinking skills.
• Ability to communicate effectively with customers.
• Familiarity with HVAC wiring diagrams.
• Ability to lift 50+ pounds.
• Ability to work in confined spaces and in all weather conditions.

Responsibilities

• Replace and upgrade old heating, cooling and ventilation systems with modern, efficient equipment.
• Install a wide range of units including air conditioners, furnaces, boilers, ductless systems and water heaters.
• Install related equipment like intake fans, humidifiers and RTUs and ensure proper integration.
• Ensure the complete system functions as a high‑performance unit.

Position Summary:

This job involves a specialized focus on HVAC retrofits, meaning you will be primarily responsible for replacing and upgrading old heating, cooling, and ventilation systems with modern, more efficient equipment. Your work will include the installation of a wide variety of units, such as air conditioners, furnaces, and boilers, ductless systems, water heaters along with their key components like electric motors and heat pumps. You'll also handle the integration of these new systems, which includes installing related equipment like intake fans, humidifiers, and RTUs (Rooftop Units), ensuring the entire system functions as a seamless, high-performance unit.

Qualifications:

• Some Boiler Experience
• Minimum 2 years’ experience with current HVAC equipment, including light commercial
• Hold a valid driver license.
• Maintain an insurable driving record.
• Strong problem solving and critical thinking skills.
• Able to communicate with customers.
• Familiarity with HVAC wiring diagrams
• Ability to lift 50+ pounds.
