Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering.
  • 2+ years of professional experience in facilities engineering, mechanical systems, or HVAC/MEP design and construction.
  • Familiarity with ASHRAE standards is preferred.
  • Certification: PE license or EIT certification is a plus.
  • Proficiency in creating and modifying construction drawings, P&IDs, and PFDs using AutoCAD.

  • Lead troubleshooting efforts, including off-hours response, to minimize downtime.

Position Summary

We are looking for a highly motivated, accountable individual to fill the role of Facilities Mechanical Engineer supporting the Facilities Operations Group. The HVAC Engineer will manage the mission-critical central utilities of our state-of-the‑art wafer fabs, systems that must operate with absolute reliability, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Operational Excellence & Reliability

Provide expert engineering support for the operation and maintenance of critical facilities equipment. Leverage process and equipment data to analyze performance and ensure all systems operate within rigorous specifications. Utilize advanced methodologies including FMEA, Root Cause Analysis, and 8D problem solving to maximize equipment reliability. Lead critical troubleshooting efforts, including off‑hours response, to resolve technical system issues and minimize downtime.

Strategic Planning & Optimization

Forecast utility system capacity based on factory demand projections, developing strategic plans to ensure redundancy and future scalability. Manage and forecast operational expenditures, spearheading cost‑reduction projects to optimize maintenance expenses. Continuously refine operations and maintenance programs, integrating global best practices into site specifications and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

Innovation & Growth

Actively scout and implement innovative concepts and emerging technologies to modernize utility systems. Play a key role in the lifecycle of the fab, assisting with system design, construction, startup, and commissioning. Champion a culture of safety and productivity by applying 6S methodology across the workplace. Collaborate closely with internal customer organizations to ensure seamless, uninterrupted operations.

Skills and Qualifications

Basic Qualifications

  1. Education: Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or a related technical discipline.
  2. Experience: 2+ years of professional experience in facilities engineering, mechanical systems, or HVAC/MEP design and construction.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certification: PE license or EIT certification.
  • Industry Standards: Familiarity with ASHRAE standards.
  • Technical Depth: Basic to Intermediate knowledge of chemical engineering principles such as wet scrubbers, acid/base reaction chemistry, chemical distribution systems, water treatment, mass transfer, mass and energy balances, solubility and scaling; as well as mechanical principles, including pumps, pneumatics, fans, flow meters, air handling systems, industrial chilled water, heating, process piping, rotating equipment, vibration analysis, heat transfer, and thermodynamics.
  • Analytical Skill: Proven data analysis experience with a strong aptitude for technical problem‑solving.
  • Design Tools: Proficiency in creating and modifying construction drawings, P&IDs, and PFDs using AutoCAD.

The current base salary range for this role is between $95,000 - $120,000. Individual base pay rates will depend on factors including duties, work location, education, skills, qualifications and experience. Total compensation for this position will include a competitive benefits package and may include participation in company incentive compensation programs, which are based on factors to include organizational and individual performance.
