Job summary

Wurster Betterground, LLC is seeking an experienced Heavy Construction Equipment Operator to join our team. This field-based role requires operating excavators, bulldozers, loaders, and other equipment in excavation, grading and site preparation tasks.

Candidates should have 5+ years of heavy equipment experience, the ability to work safely, and coordinate with crew members. Out-of-town travel is required with per diem provided when applicable.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of heavy construction equipment operating experience.
• Experience operating multiple types of heavy construction equipment.
• Ability to successfully complete equipment operator qualification testing/observation.
• Strong understanding of construction-site and equipment safety.
• Ability to follow instructions and work with supervisors and crew.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate heavy construction equipment in accordance with safety requirements.
• Perform excavation, grading, material handling, site preparation, and related activities.
• Load, move, grade, excavate, and place dirt, rock, and other materials.
• Judge grades, slopes, distances, clearances, and equipment positioning.
• Coordinate equipment movements with ground personnel and other operators.
• Conduct pre- and post-operation equipment inspections.
• Perform routine equipment cleaning and basic maintenance.
• Identify and avoid jobsite hazards, including utilities and changing conditions.
• Assist with general jobsite activities as needed.
• Follow all safety policies and PPE requirements.
