Special Projects Team / Floor / Heavy Duty Tech

Salary: $15.00 – $16.00 per hour

Full‑Time

The Burks Companies, Inc. (TBC) is hiring a full‑time Specialty Technician. The role focuses on floor surface maintenance, carpet care, and custodial duties across commercial complexes.

Responsibilities

• Perform heavy‑duty floor maintenance: polishing, tile restoration, grout repair, stripping, waxing, burnishing, shampooing, and carpet extraction.
• Handle large floor‑care equipment, reporting maintenance issues and ensuring machines are clean and properly maintained after each use.
• Execute high‑dusting, pressure washing, refinishing of tile floors, and other specialty projects as assigned.
• Follow safety precautions and guidelines while operating equipment to avoid injury or damage.
• Perform general custodial tasks, including cleaning, sweeping, and mopping, on a larger scale.
• Complete additional duties as required by Project Manager.

Qualifications

• 21 years old or older.
• Ability to lift up to 75 pounds and perform tasks that include bending, kneeling, reaching, and standing for an entire shift.
• 3–5 years experience as a floor technician, with knowledge of operating large floor‑care machines in commercial settings.
• Extensive knowledge of floor care techniques.

Physical Demands & Working Conditions

• Frequent standing, walking, climbing stairs, bending, and squatting.
• Frequent lifting of more than 40 pounds.
