Job summary

Goble Family Restaurants, a McDonald’s franchise, is seeking a General Manager to lead a high-volume restaurant in Maine. You will be responsible for operations, guest experience, and financial performance, working with an Area Supervisor to set goals and execute plans.

Ideal candidates have GM experience in high-volume settings, strong leadership and coaching skills, and a solid understanding of food safety and restaurant operations.

Qualifications

  • Previous General Manager experience operating a high-volume restaurant.
  • Hamburger University graduation or equivalent education in restaurant management.
  • Experience managing restaurant financial performance and operations.

Responsibilities

  • Lead daily restaurant operations and staff to meet quality, service, and cleanliness standards.
  • Drive sales, guest counts, labor, and profitability goals.
  • Coach and develop Department and Shift Managers and crew; recruit and onboard staff.
  • Oversee scheduling, labor deployment, and payroll controls; manage costs and inventory.
  • Maintain safe, welcoming, and compliant workplace; handle guest concerns.

General Manager

Salary Range: $55,000 to $75,000 per year

The actual salary offered will be based on factors such as General Manager experience, restaurant volume, qualifications, certifications, operational knowledge, and the needs of the organization.

General Managers may also be eligible to participate in a performance-based bonus program.

Position Overview

The General Manager is responsible for operating a successful and profitable restaurant while ensuring the restaurant meets McDonald’s standards for Quality, Service, Cleanliness, and Food Safety.

This is an important leadership role with responsibility for the restaurant’s people, operations, guest experience, financial performance, and long-term success.

The General Manager works with the Area Supervisor to establish restaurant goals and create plans to achieve those goals in alignment with McDonald’s operating systems and organizational expectations.

Leadership Responsibilities

The General Manager leads a team of Department Managers, Shift Managers, and crew members who have specific responsibilities within the restaurant.

Responsibilities may include:

  • Leading the restaurant’s daily operations
  • Creating and executing plans to achieve sales, guest-count, labor, and profitability goals
  • Maintaining McDonald’s standards for Quality, Service, Cleanliness, and Food Safety
  • Coaching Department Managers and Shift Managers
  • Helping managers establish performance and development goals
  • Following up on managers’ progress and providing continued direction
  • Recruiting, hiring, training, and developing restaurant employees
  • Building a strong management and crew team
  • Ensuring the restaurant is appropriately staffed
  • Managing employee performance, accountability, and recognition
  • Overseeing scheduling, labor deployment, and payroll controls
  • Monitoring food cost, inventory, waste, cash controls, and profitability
  • Maintaining a safe, respectful, and welcoming workplace
  • Responding to customer concerns and improving the guest experience
  • Ensuring restaurant equipment, facilities, and grounds are properly maintained
  • Completing required administrative, financial, and operational responsibilities
  • Preparing the restaurant and team for future growth
Preferred Qualifications

Ideal candidates will have previous General Manager experience operating a high-volume restaurant.

Preferred qualifications include:

  • Previous McDonald’s General Manager experience
  • McDonald’s Hamburger University graduation
  • Experience operating a high-volume restaurant
  • Strong leadership, coaching, and communication skills
  • Experience managing restaurant financial performance
  • Strong knowledge of food safety and restaurant operations
  • OTP2 or OTP3 certification
  • Quick-service restaurant experience
  • Hospitality or retail management experience
  • Ability to lead and develop managers and crew members
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule based on restaurant needs

Equivalent combinations of education, training, certifications, and relevant management experience may also be considered.

Compensation
  • Annual salary of $55,000 to $75,000
