Responsibilities

• Comprehend and perform duties according to rules, regs and JSAs.
• Follow safety protocols and report hazards for a safe environment.
• Conduct required pre-operating forklift checks and report deficiencies.
• Keep accurate records and lumber tally counts.
• Execute the planer run schedule and ensure supply of lumber.
• Load multiple lumber units to maintain planer throughput.
• Maintain dry and green lumber yard setup for storage and accountability.
• Remove or replace defective pile bottoms and keep area clean.
• Maintain a consistent production pace.
• Other duties as needed by the supervisor.

• Conduct required pre-operating checks on forklift, prior to use and report all deficiencies immediately.
• Keep accurate records and lumber tally counts.
• Strategically execute the planer run schedule in accordance with the planer schedule.
• Effectively load multiple lumber units to ensure planer has a constant supply of lumber material.
• Maintain dry and green lumber yard setup for efficient storage and accountability.
• Maintain a clean working area.
• Consistently keep a production level work pace.
• Other duties as needed or directed by the supervisor.

Physical Requirements

Move safely, quickly, and perform duties with repetitious movement. Sit and/or stand for shift, reach with hands and arms, stoop, squat, twist, push and pull, maintain balance, bend at the waist, kneel, walk varying distances, and climb stairs. Must be able to tolerate all weather elements, loud conditions, vibrations and airborne particles (sawdust).
