Harnden Group, LLC in Bedford, VA is seeking an Experienced Foreperson to manage earthwork and utility operations on-site. The candidate will oversee daily tasks, ensure safety, and coordinate field crews to meet project specifications.

Background checks, drug testing, and a physical examination are required. This is a full-time position with top wages and a strong benefits package including health, dental, vision, life, disability, a 401K, HSA, paid holidays and vacation.

Qualifications

• 5 years experience in construction roles preferred.
• Experience with landfill construction helpful.
• GPS-equipped machinery experience preferred.
• English language required.

Responsibilities

• Acquire tools needed for daily operations.
• Measure distances from grade stakes, drive stakes, and stretch tight line.
• Bolt, nail, align, and block up under forms.
• Signal operators of construction equipment to facilitate alignment, movement, and adjustment of machinery to conform to grade specifications.
• Level earth to fine grade specifications.
• Mix concrete.
• Smooth and finishes freshly poured cement or concrete.
• Position, join, align, and seal pipe sections.
• Erect shoring, and braces.

Harnden Group, LLC, has several employment opportunities available beginning in 2026 in the Bedford, VA area. We are seeking experienced Earthwork and Utility Foreman. Prior specific experience in landfill construction and GPS-controlled equipment is preferred.

Pay: $1,400.00 - $1,900.00 per week

Pipe Duties

• Get tools needed for daily operations
• Get job set up for daily function such as setting up a pipe laser
• Use cut saws to make pipe proper length
• Prep pipe for connection before pipe gets lowered
• Shoot grades and checks grades using laser or conventional methods
• Perform connection of pipe work
• Responsible for checking for proper pipe slope
• Prep structures for installation

Qualifications

Experience:

• Construction Operator or Laborer: 5 year (Preferred)

Language:

• English (Required)

Shift availability:

• Day Shift (Required)

Willingness to travel:

• 100% (Preferred)
