Job summary

PGSUSA is seeking an Experienced Flex Security Officer in Fort Lauderdale, FL to maintain a visible security presence, control access, and greet staff and visitors. The role requires quick learning of entry systems and strong professionalism in high-stress environments.

The position emphasizes teamwork, incident reporting, and collaboration with law enforcement, with opportunities for growth and ongoing training.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid D Security License in Florida.
• Must have at least 3 yrs exp in Gatehouse, Rover and Front Desk.
• Must be able to quickly learn Entry systems in a short period of time.
• Prior experience in security, law enforcement, or a related field is preferred.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively in high-stress environments with professionalism and sound judgment.
• Must pass a background check and drug screening.
• Various posts in Broward County, Fl and surrounding areas.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a visible and professional presence to deter illegal activities and ensure safety.
• Monitor and control access at building entrances and vehicle gates.
• Provide exceptional customer service and greet employees and visitors.
• Patrol property on golf cart; observe and report suspicious activity.
• Respond promptly and appropriately to security incidents, emergencies, and alarms.
• Use excellent customer service and communication skills to deescalate tense situations.
• Collaborate with law enforcement or emergency services as needed.
• Accurately document and report incidents using company-approved forms and protocols.
• Inspect the premises for security risks, hazards, or violations and report findings.

Key Responsibilities:

• Maintain a visible and professional presence to deter illegal activities and ensure the safety of personnel, visitors, and property.
• Monitor and control access at building entrances and vehicle gates.
• Provide exceptional customer service and greet employees and visitors.
• Patrol property on golf cart; observe and report any suspicious activity.
• Respond promptly and appropriately to security incidents, emergencies, and alarms.
• Use excellent customer service and communication skills to deescalate tense or potentially violent situations.
• Collaborate with law enforcement or emergency services as needed.
• Accurately document and report incidents, activities, and observations using company-approved forms and protocols.
• Inspect the premises for security risks, hazards, or violations and report findings to the appropriate personnel.
• Comply with all state regulations, including maintaining current unarmed security license in Florida.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods (minimum of 1 hour).
• Ability to lift and carry objects weighing up to 25 pounds.
• Must be capable of functioning independently and remaining calm in high-pressure or intense situations.
