SJ Janis Company, Inc. is hiring an experienced Finish Carpenter to work on high-end residential remodeling projects in the Milwaukee area. You will collaborate with Lead Carpenters and skilled tradespeople to maintain SJ Janis’ standard of craftsmanship and client satisfaction.

The role requires at least 4 years of carpentry experience, the ability to read construction documents, and a strong work ethic. Compensation is $40–$45 per hour with full-time, year-round work and a comprehensive

Responsibilities

• Perform rough and finish carpentry at a high level with minimal supervision.

• Install framing, cabinetry, doors, windows, drywall, trim, base, casing, and crown molding.
• Complete detailed finish work with superior craftsmanship.
• Maintain clean, organized, and safe jobsites.
• Deliver an exceptional client experience on every project.

What You’ll Do

As an Experienced Finish Carpenter at SJ Janis, you'll work on high-end residential remodeling projects throughout the Milwaukee area alongside Lead Carpenters and skilled tradespeople. This role requires strong finish carpentry skills, attention to detail, professionalism, and the ability to work independently while maintaining SJ Janis quality standards.

Responsibilities Include

• Perform rough and finish carpentry at a high level with minimal supervision
• Read and interpret blueprints, specifications, work orders, and change orders
• Install framing, cabinetry, doors, windows, drywall, trim, base, casing, and crown molding
• Complete detailed finish work with superior craftsmanship
• Assist with basic repairs related to painting, plumbing, electrical, flooring, and staining
• Maintain clean, organized, and safe jobsites
• Protect company tools, materials, and client homes
• Communicate effectively with Lead Carpenters and Production Managers
• Deliver an exceptional client experience on every project

What We’re Looking For

• Minimum 4 years of carpentry experience
• Strong rough and finish carpentry skills
• Ability to read and understand construction documents
• High attention to detail and pride in craftsmanship
• Positive, team-oriented attitude
• Reliable transportation and valid driver's license with good driving record
• Ability to lift up to 100 lbs and perform physically demanding work consistently
• Professional appearance and strong communication skills
• Dependable, self-motivated, and committed to doing quality work

Schedule

Typical hours are Monday through Friday from 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM, with flexibility based on project needs.
