Wagner Equipment Co is seeking an Experienced Field Service Technician to diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair Caterpillar equipment at mining sites in Grand Junction, CO. The role requires a CDL, MSHA certification (or ability to obtain), and extensive CAT software experience.

You will work Monday–Friday with travel up to 75% and mentor junior technicians as needed, while adhering to MSHA/OSHA safety standards. Competitive pay and benefits offered.

Responsabilidades

• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair Caterpillar equipment at mine sites.
• Read and interpret electrical and hydraulic schematics for accurate repairs.
• Use CAT ET, SIS Web, and STW to diagnose and document service work.
• Communicate repair status and recommendations with customers and internal teams.
• Maintain accurate service reports and inspection logs; ensure safety and compliance.

Location: American Gypsum MinePay Range: $36.50-$52.60 per hourPay rate is dependent on education and experience.

Essential Functions:

Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform these essential functions.

• Independently diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair Caterpillar equipment at the mine site
• Read and interpret electrical and hydraulic schematics to ensure accurate repairs
• Use Caterpillar software systems (ET, SIS, STW) to complete diagnostics and service documentation
• Communicate effectively with customers and internal teams regarding repair status, recommendations, and warranty determinations
• Maintain accurate, legible service reports and daily truck and crane inspection logs
• Ensure proper safety practices and compliance with MSHA and OSHA regulations
• Maintain all tooling and equipment in a safe and operational condition

• Safely operate and drive service truck (Class A CDL required)
• Support and mentor junior technicians as needed
• Work schedule is Monday–Friday, 6:00 AM – 5:00 PM; hours may vary depending on customer needs. Overtime is expected and may be frequent.
• Travel up to 75% may be required based on job needs
• Other duties as assigned by manager

Required Education and Experience:

• High School Diploma or GED
• 5+ years of experience working on heavy equipment (Caterpillar preferred)
• 3+ years of experience performing diagnostics and repairs on highway trucks
• 3+ years of experience working on mining equipment such as mills, and crushing and screening systems
• Valid Class B Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) – Required
• MSHA Certification (or ability to obtain prior to hire)
• Completion of CAT-specific courses or equivalent technical training
• Proficient with diagnostic software tools: CAT ET, SIS Web, and STW
• 3+ years of customer service experience
• Basic proficiency with Microsoft Outlook and DBS
• Must be a resident of the Gypsum area or willing to relocate
