Job summary

Samsung Austin Semiconductor is seeking a Field Quality Technician to oversee on-site operations, ensuring safety and adherence to SOPs. You will audit work, inspect field activities, and report issues to prevent equipment failure or safety incidents, while guiding contractor performance and safety compliance.

The role emphasizes developing quality control programs, conducting audits, and delivering improvement recommendations to safeguard production and personnel.

Qualifications

• Certification, license, or an associate degree or military experience in HVAC, Mechanical, Chemical, I&C, Electrical, Plumbing, Gas Fitting or related STEM fields.
• 2+ years of experience in industrial operations and maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Anticipate, identify and evaluate hazardous behaviors, conditions and practices.
• Supervise contractor work activities from a quality perspective.
• Develop quality control methods, procedures and programs.
• Implement, administer and advise on hazard control and quality control programs.
• Evaluate regulatory compliance related to safety and quality programs.
• Create inspection reports and provide improvement recommendations.
• Facilitate and present quality focus topics to program stakeholders.
• Conduct quality awareness workshops for field technicians.

Education

Certification/license, Associate degree or military experience in HVAC, Mechanical, Chemical, I&C, Electrical, Plumbing, Gas Fitting, Industrial Maintenance, Facilities Maintenance Technology, Microelectronics, Renewable Energy Technology, Water & Environmental Technology, Water/Purification, Industrial Process Operator, or related STEM field

Position Summary

The Field Quality Technician provides direct, on-site oversight to ensure that infra work is performed safely and correctly. This role is responsible for inspecting the work of both internal employees and contractors to make sure they are following SOPs and safety protocols. By conducting audits, performing job walks, and reporting issues immediately, the Technician acts as the final check to prevent mistakes. Their primary focus is to catch errors in the field before they lead to equipment failure or safety incident

The current base salary range for this role is between $26.00 - $33.00/hour. Individual base pay rates will depend on factors including duties, work location, education, skills, qualifications and experience. Total compensation for this position will include a competitive benefits package and may include participation in company incentive compensation programs, which are based on factors to include organizational and individual performance.
