Job summary

Schnabel Engineering in Charlottesville, VA is seeking an Experienced Engineering Technician to join our growing practice. You will perform field observation and testing during placement of construction materials and conduct soil and concrete lab testing.

Requirements include a high school diploma, a valid driver’s license, and 4+ years of construction experience; a technical post-high school degree may substitute for experience.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of construction experience; a technical post-high school degree may substitute for experience.
• Good oral, written communication and organizational skills.
• Able to perform rudimentary mathematical computations.
• Ability to lift 60 pounds, negotiate construction sites, and work outdoors in varying weather.

Responsibilities

• Field observation and testing during placement of construction materials including soil, concrete, asphalt, masonry, and sprayed-on fireproofing.
• Soil and concrete laboratory testing.
