Job summary

Air Comfort, Inc. in Minneapolis seeks a frontline estimator to write estimates with Xactimate for residential and commercial disaster projects.

You must define the scope of work and deliver accurate, timely estimates in a high-volume environment, coordinating with internal and external personnel. Responsibilities include budgeting, purchasing, and collections; producing work orders for sub-contractors and in-house crews; processing invoices; and daily progress reporting in project management

Qualifications

• 3 years full-charge residential and commercial construction experience.
• Ability to estimate all types of structures that have experienced some form of disaster using Xactimate.
• Live within 40 minutes of the Twin Cities Minnesota corporate location.
• Available for occasional 24-hour emergency work.
• Able to handle stress and be flexible in a fast-paced work environment.
• Excellent judgment, prioritization and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Write estimates and scope of work using Xactimate for disaster-affected residential and commercial projects.
• Produce estimates requiring insurance and third-party approvals while maintaining profit margins.
• Negotiate, settle and finalize estimates with the appropriate parties as needed.
• Manage project finances including budgeting, purchasing and collections.
• Produce work orders for sub-contractors and in-house crews and manage crews.
• Process all invoices to be submitted to the accounting office.
• Input project progress information into project management software and provide daily reports.

Job Summary:

In this front-line estimator is responsible for writing estimates using Xactimate for both residential and commercial projects. The individual must accurately define the scope of work and complete accurate and timely estimates in a high-volume environment. Must work with internal as well as external personnel to transition projects and communicating in all programs such as Restoration Manager, Nexxus, Xactware, BambooHR, Sage Contractor 100 and Paycor.

• You can write and support a detailed Scope of Work written with Xactimate for repair and reconstruction of residential and commercial projects affected by disaster.
• You can produce estimates that will require insurance and third-party approval while maintaining the required profit margins.
• You have the ability to negotiate, settle and finalize estimates with the appropriate parties as needed.
• You can manage financial aspects of the project including budgeting, purchasing and collections.
• You can be responsible for producing work orders for sub-contractors and in-house crews as well as managing the crews.
• You are responsible for processing all invoices to be submitted to the accounting office.
• You are comfortable with daily reporting and inputting project progress information into project management software.

SKILLS:

• Be skilled using Xactimate, Word and Excel and be comfortable with technology is general.
• MUST have the ability to estimate all types of structures that have experienced some form of disaster using Xactimate software.
• Be available for occasional 24-hour emergency work.
• Must live within 40 minutes of the Twin Cities Minnesota corporate location.
• Be able to handle stress and be flexible in a fast-paced work environment.
• Be able to exercise good judgement in making decisions.
• Be able to prioritize multiple tasks, have a sense of urgency to complete projects and be detailed oriented.
• Have 3 years full-charge residential and commercial construction experience.
• Have a high school diploma or equivalent, clean driving and criminal records.
• Construction degree is a plus.
• Must be part of an On-Call team.
• Great communication skills with people.
• Must possess values consistent with Company, honesty, integrity and willingness to work hard.
