Job summary

Vail Resorts is hiring for the Experienced Equipment Operator on a winter seasonal basis (2026/2027). You will operate a variety of equipment, trucks and tractors for street and utility repair, maintenance, and facilities construction at the mountain.

Starting wage ranges from $22.26 to $27.83 per hour, with full-time winter shifts and housing available. The role requires at least 1 year of heavy equipment experience, a high school diploma or equivalent, fluent English, and a valid Class A or B

Qualifications

• At least 1-year heavy equipment experience.
• Able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
• Must be able to communicate fluently in English.
• Class A or B CDL License is required for this position.

Responsibilities

• Operate all equipment used by the Mt. Ops team.
• Monitor equipment and address issues promptly with Vehicle Maintenance.
• Work as part of a team and perform physical labor as needed.
• Troubleshoot equipment problems and perform maintenance tasks.

Job Summary:

The Experienced Equipment Operator will operate a variety of equipment, trucks and tractors for the purpose of street and utility repair, maintenance, and construction of facilities.

Job Specifications:

• Starting Wage: $22.26/hr – $27.83/hr

Job Responsibilities:

• Operate all equipment used by the Mt. Ops team
• Monitor all equipment and make sure that all issues are addressed promptly and communicated with Vehicle Maintenance.
• Physical Labor will be required due to the broad scope of the jobs that will be done for the resort. Responsible for all aspects of Mountain operations.
• Maintenance of signs and repairs and general maintenance.
• Able to take directions and work as part of a team
• Accurately troubleshoot equipment problems.
• Other duties as assigned

Job Requirements:

• At least 1-year heavy equipment experience
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Must be able to communicate fluently in English
• Valid driver’s license and clean drivinag record
• Class A or B CDL License is required for this position
• Able to lift & carry up to 50 lbs.
• Able to work extended hours outdoors in an alpine environment

The expected pay range is $22.26/hr – $27.83/hr. This is the pay range we reasonably expect to pay for this position. Individual compensation decisions are based on a variety of factors.
