Job summary

United Rentals is seeking an experienced Equipment Mechanic to perform maintenance and repair on complex equipment with limited supervision. You will work safely and professionally while delivering exceptional service to customers.

Responsibilities include servicing mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and diesel systems, traveling to job sites when required, and assisting with training junior technicians. Valid driver’s license and ownership of required tools are necessary.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent is required.
• Superior customer service, teamwork and verbal/written communication skills are essential.
• Advanced mechanical aptitude and working knowledge of tools are important.
• Extensive knowledge of construction equipment with an understanding of schematics/diagrams.
• Must own tools applicable to position.

Responsibilities

• Maintenance and repair of complex mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and diesel systems on a variety of rental and customer equipment with a high degree of independent judgment.
• Travel to customer job sites for repair/maintenance; keep service vehicle clean and professional.
• Assist in training lower level technicians as needed.
• Maintain paperwork/electronic documentation of work performed (work orders) daily.
• Assist with pick-up and delivery of equipment and parts.
• Other duties assigned as needed.
