Job summary

PDQuipment is seeking an experienced, hands-on equipment mechanic for our Oregon service shop. You don’t need prior experience with our specific equipment, but background in heavy, hydraulic, or industrial machinery is highly valued and training will be provided.

This full-time role involves diagnosing problems, disassembling equipment, making repairs, and returning machines to service. Compensation is hourly, with potential for advancement and performance-based incentives.

Qualifications

  • Experience with heavy or construction equipment preferred.
  • Experience repairing hydraulic or industrial machinery beneficial.
  • Strong mechanical troubleshooting and repair abilities required.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose equipment issues and inspect machines.
  • Disassemble equipment, perform repairs, and reassemble.
  • Replace worn parts and test machines for proper operation.
  • Perform preventive maintenance and inspections.
  • Collaborate with service team and manufacturers for complex issues.

We are looking for an experienced, hands‑on mechanic to join our Oregon service shop. You do not need experience with our specific equipment, and you do not need to be a certified diesel mechanic. If you have experience repairing heavy equipment, construction equipment, hydraulic equipment, or industrial machinery, we can provide the specialized training.

This is a full‑time position for someone who enjoys diagnosing problems, taking equipment apart, making repairs, and getting machines back into service.

Compensation
  • Starting compensation is based on mechanical experience, hydraulic knowledge, troubleshooting ability, and your ability to independently complete repairs.
  • Highly experienced technicians who can take ownership of the shop, independently diagnose and complete repairs, and consistently produce quality billable work have additional earning potential.
  • Productivity‑based incentives are also available in addition to base hourly compensation.
What You’ll Work On
  • Hydraulic pumps, motors, cylinders, hoses and fittings Bearings, seals and other wear components.
  • Mechanical assemblies and larger component replacement,
  • Engines and engine‑mounted components
  • Electrical components, switches and wiring
  • Preventive maintenance, fluids, filters and inspections
  • Hydraulic pressure and flow troubleshooting
  • Diagnosing mechanical and equipment failures Testing equipment after repairs
You are not expected to know our equipment on Day 1.
  • We have four service locations nationwide, experienced mechanics at our other shops, and direct relationships with the equipment manufacturers we represent. You’ll have people to call when you encounter something unfamiliar.
Training & Support
  • We provide equipment‑specific training and ongoing technical support. Training may include:
    • Hands‑on training with our existing technicians
    • Collaboration with mechanics at our other service locations
    • Direct manufacturer technical support
    • Manufacturer training opportunities
    • Paid travel for specialized training, including opportunities in California, Minnesota, Texas, Washington
We’re looking for someone with the mechanical foundation and troubleshooting ability. We can teach you the machines.
What We’re Looking For
  • You may be a good fit if you have experience with:
    • Heavy or construction equipment
    • Hydraulic equipmentIndustrial machinery
    • Equipment repair and maintenance
    • Mechanical troubleshooting and component replacement
  • We’re especially interested in someone who can work independently through a repair: inspect the machine, identify the problem, determine the repair needed, complete the work, and verify the equipment is operating properly.
What You Don’t Need
  • Previous concrete equipment experience
  • Diesel mechanic certification
  • Experience rebuilding diesel engines
  • Experience with every machine or manufacturer we sell
  • Major engine work can be sent to outside specialists. We’re hiring an equipment mechanic, not an engine rebuilding specialist.
Stable, Full‑Time Work

This is a full‑time, year‑round position with an established equipment company operating four service locations nationwide. You’ll have responsibility for repairs in our Oregon shop while still having access to a larger service team, manufacturer support, and continued training.

If you’re mechanically experienced, comfortable working on heavy or hydraulic equipment, and interested in learning specialized machinery, we’d like to talk with you.

Compensation: $35.00 - $60.00 per hour
