Job summary

BGE, Inc is seeking an Experienced Engineer-in-Training/EIT for Land Development in Houston, TX. The role involves independently handling engineering tasks, site planning, and design of infrastructure for residential, commercial, and industrial sites.

You will work under supervision, preparing feasibility studies, permitting documents, and reports while leveraging Civil 3D and local codes. A BS in civil engineering and EIT (or FE) are preferred, with 1+ year of relevant experience.

Qualifications

• BS in Civil Engineering from an accredited university.
• FE exam passed or Engineer-in-Training preferred.
• Proficiency with Autodesk Civil 3D.
• 1+ year of civil engineering for land/site development experience.
• Understanding of local development codes preferred.

Responsibilities

• Independently performs engineering assignments with objectives and supervisor oversight.
• Prepares due diligence/feasibility studies and site planning.
• Designs paving, grading, drainage, and utility systems for land development.
• Gathers permits for construction documents and reports.
• Other duties as assigned.

Job Description

• Independently performs engineering assignments with clear and specified objectives with general oversight from supervisor and/or Project Manager
• Responsible for preparation of due diligence/feasibility studies and site planning
• Design of paving, grading, drainage, and utility systems for single-family home site development and/or multi-family, commercial, and industrial site development.
• Responsible for permitting of construction documents and reports
• Other duties as assigned

Job Requirements

• BS in Civil Engineering from an accredited university required
• Must have passed the FE exam; current valid registration as an Engineer-in-Trainingis preferred.
• Proficiency with Autodesk Civil 3D
• 1 or more years of professional experience doing civil engineering for land or site development
• Understanding of local governmental public and private development codes and ordinances is preferred.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to work in a fast paced, team-oriented environment
