Job Summary:

The TFA – Electrical Excitation is responsible for the Power Turbine Generator Excitation System and is accountable for control of costs, quality control - preservation, protection, security, or safekeeping of turbine modules, office trailers, tool trailers/gang boxes, cranes, and accessories, spare parts. Responsible for reviewing plant engineering documents and P&ID’s, troubleshooting of plant systems and equipment, planning, organizing, integrating and directing resources such as labor, tools, and materials as required to complete the work scope according to contractual requirements. You may be assigned other duties to help proactively drive our FieldCore vision and align with our organization’s core values.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

• Electrical Technical Field Advisor will install, commission, and troubleshoot the generator, digital electronic starters (LCI), Digital Generator Protection and supporting wiring systems for gas and steam turbines.
• Trace through the software documentation.
• Implement control constant modifications.
• Reading and modifying software sequencing.
• Set up and modify the hardware/software associated with Gas and Steam Turbine systems.
• Implement excitation control system software changes.
• Work with both DOS and Windows NT based operator interfaces.
• Work with both analog and digital controls including logic.
• Provide Technical Direction for wiring installation and termination, complete functionality checks, and troubleshooting of the turbine excitation / LCI system.
• Perform start-up/shut-down sequencing and turbine/generator operation.

Pre-outage and installation planning; possibly recommending and administering policies and procedures.

• Availability to frequent travel and work off-shore.
• Ability and willingness to work holidays, weekends, and overtime as required by field assignments.

Required Qualifications & Experience:

• Bachelor’s Degree in engineering and 3 years of experience, or 5 years of experience without a formal degree, in power plant maintenance, turbine generator maintenance, or power plant equipment installation/commissioning.
• Successful completion of required training programs is a minimum requirement.

Desired Characteristics:

• Qualified level. Has the knowledge and skill to actively support an outage and be aware of where to seek answers to questions as they arise. Has experienced successful installations and outages.
• Experience with Gas Turbine Driver Control Systems and Auxiliary Systems.
• Familiar with Instruments and controls and PLCs for controls training.
• Wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected.
• Strong analytic and problem-solving skills.
• Good interpersonal and organizational skills.
• Strong computer skills.
• Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.

Compensation and Benefits:
The annual salary range for this position is $75,300 to $124,300. This is an exempt position from overtime. FieldCore benefits include insurance (medical, dental, vision, disability, and life), retirement savings, health and wellness reimbursement, and a bonus or incentive program. Eligibility for FieldCore benefits is determined under the terms of the applicable benefits plan.
