Job summary

Bridgers & Paxton is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to join our Albuquerque team, contributing to projects across laboratories, hospitals, manufacturing, educational and commercial facilities.

The role requires a four-year engineering degree, at least five years of electrical design experience in a consulting or design‑build environment, strong CAD skills, and the ability to lead junior engineers and coordinate with clients and codes.

Qualifications

• Minimum four-year college degree from an accredited engineering program.
• Minimum of 5 years of electrical engineering experience in a consulting or design‑build firm.
• Licensed Professional Engineer is a plus.
• Self-motivated with ability to develop approaches and execute designs independently.
• Strong communication skills (verbal, written, graphical) with clients and code authorities.
• Project management skills and problem-solving abilities.
• Knowledge of building, electrical and energy conservation codes and NFPA standards.
• Experience with AutoCAD, Revit, SKM PTW or similar software.

Responsibilities

• Stay current on codes and technologies for electrical disciplines.
• Ensure conformance with standards and technical adequacy of design.
• Organize site visits for data collection and evaluation of electrical systems.
• Develop and design within a BIM design environment.
• Complete tasks per client criteria and applicable codes.
• Review junior team members' work for quality and training opportunities.
• Lead junior engineers in design development and growth.
• Collaborate with project teams to execute projects from concept to completion.
• For government projects: obtain and maintain security clearance.

We have an exciting opportunity for experienced Electrical Engineers to join our team in Albuquerque. The qualified applicant will be able to demonstrate an established career in Electrical Engineering related to projects such as laboratories, hospitals, manufacturing, educational, and commercial facilities.

Responsibilities

• Staying current on codes and technologies appropriate to the electrical disciplines
• Ensuring conformance with standards, established design practices, applicable codes, and technical adequacy of design and construction
• Organizing and conducting site visits for data collection and evaluation of electrical systems, equipment, components and materials for projects with and without well‑defined scopes
• Developing and designing within a BIM design environment
• Completing assigned engineering and design tasks in accordance with client specified criteria and applicable codes and standards
• Reviewing junior team member’s work for quality and recognition of training opportunities
• Leading junior engineers in engineering design development and professional growth
• Collaborating with the internal and external project team to execute the project from concept to completion
• (For our Government Group): Successful candidates must be capable of obtaining and maintaining a security clearance

Qualifications

• Minimum four‑year college degree from an accredited engineering program
• Minimum of 5 years of electrical engineering experience within a consulting or design‑build firm
• Professional Licensed Electrical Engineer is a plus
• Self‑motivated with the ability to develop approaches to projects independently, and perform detailed execution of electrical design
• Communicates well verbally, in writing, and graphically, with other engineers, clients, and code authorities
• Project management skills
• Excellent problem‑solving skills
• Strong personal ambition and work ethic
• Strong working knowledge of various building, electrical and energy conservation codes
• Strong working knowledge of the NFPA and other industry related standards
• Strong personal ambition to be a team player and provide guidance and mentoring to less experienced designer/engineers
• Experience with AutoCAD, Revit, SKM PTW and/or other design related software
