Job summary

Wampum Hardware Co in New Galilee, PA seeks a Driller to support construction projects outdoors in all weather, lifting up to 60 pounds and operating the drill at the bench. Training provided includes MSHA Part-48, Hazmat, and OSHA courses.

You will drive to the drill bench, set up and inspect the drill, monitor controls, and complete drill logs while reporting issues to the Blaster in Charge and Manager. Safety is a priority on every job.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

As a Driller, you are essential to the success of each job we are on. This position involves being outside in all weather conditions, lifting and carrying up to 60 pounds of product and other materials as needed, and frequently requires squatting and bending.

As a new employee, you will complete a 24-hour MSHA Part-48 training course with one of our instructors and be given Hazmat training. You will often complete a 10-hour OSHA course and be trained on various State requirements. We want you to know what you are doing.

Your normal day will start off by driving to the drill bench which is often construction like terrain. Once there you set up, inspect and service your drill. Once satisfied you will operate your drill by monitoring the drill controls as well as the progress of the drilling operation, to ensure that everything is working correctly. You will fill out a drill log that shows the Blaster in Charge the condition of the holes and brief him.

Remember, safety is always a priority whether you are drilling or assisting the Blaster in Charge with site preparation and equipment setup. You should report customer concerns, equipment, or mechanical failures immediately to the Blaster in Charge. After completion, you will inspect and service your drill to ensure it is ready for the next job and contact the Manager. If you have recommendations to improve the operations let him know.
