Job summary

Kanaan Communications, LLC seeks an Experienced Drill Bores Operator to install underground telecom cables in Westerville, OH and surrounding areas. You will operate drill equipment, determine bore paths, and ensure safe, efficient work on active job sites.

The role is field-based, hourly, with a $3000 sign-on bonus for qualified applicants. Candidates need at least 1 year of drilling experience, a valid Class A CDL with tanker endorsement or willingness to obtain it, and legal eligibility to

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of drilling experience or related work
• Authorized to work in the United States for this company
• High School Diploma or GED or relevant work experience
• Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License with tanker endorsement or willingness to obtain it
• Experience with drilling equipment, including bore setup and design processes
• Minimum 18 years of age or older

Responsibilities

• Determine bore path and locate utilities
• Safely operate and control all drilling equipment to complete assigned tasks
• Verify utilities by potholing to determine bore path
• Develop and maintain a bore schedule
• Site set-up, clean-up, and equipment maintenance
• Perform work in all weather conditions
• Other duties as assigned

What you’ll do

• Determine bore path and locate utilities
• Safely operate and control all necessary equipment to complete assigned tasks
• Verify existing utilities by potholing to determine bore path
• Develop and maintain a bore schedule
• Responsible for site set-up, clean-up, and equipment maintenance
• Perform work in all weather conditions
• Other duties as assigned

What you’ll need

• To be 18 years of age or older
• Authorization to work in the United States for this company
• High School Diploma, GED equivalent, or relevant work experience
• Valid state driver's license (cannot be Provisional), including an acceptable driving record
• Valid Class A Commercial driver's license with tanker endorsement or willingness to obtain it
• Experience with drilling equipment, including their capabilities, limitations, and drill setup and design processes
• Minimum1 year of work experience to qualify for the $3000 sign-on bonus

Physical abilities & exposures

• Routinely: work with arms above shoulder level, in confined space and remote locations, operate vehicle and heavy machinery, squeeze, fine hand motion, bend, stoop, stand, walk, climb stairs and lift greater than 55 pounds
• Occasionally: use ladder, keyboard and mouse
