Job summary

MTech Mechanical is seeking an Experienced Drain Technician in Westminster, CO to service commercial clients with occasional residential projects. You will diagnose and resolve drain issues using cabling machines, hydro jetters, sewer cameras and locators while delivering professional, safe service.

You will perform sewer scoping, line locating, and assess pipe conditions for repairs, clear drains in kitchens and main sewer lines, and provide clear recommendations to clients.

Qualifications

• 2–3 years drain cleaning and inspection experience in a service-focused role.
• Familiarity with cabling machines (Gorlitz, Spartan, Ridgid), hydro jetters, sewer cameras, and pipe locators.
• Basic understanding of plumbing systems; training available for growth.
• Willingness to enroll in MTech’s Apprenticeship Program.
• Clean driving record and ability to meet driver standards.

Responsibilities

• Operate drain cabling equipment, hydro jetters, sewer cameras, and locators to identify blockages or damage.
• Perform sewer scoping, line locating, and assess pipe conditions for repairs or maintenance.
• Clear and clean drains in kitchens, bathrooms, and main sewer lines using industry tools.
• Provide clear feedback and repair recommendations to clients.
• Handle minor plumbing repairs related to drain systems.
• Complete required service documentation accurately and on time.
• Collect and record service fees when necessary.
• Maintain safety and follow MTech’s standards on site.
• Represent MTech with professionalism on every job site.
• Attend regular team meetings and ongoing training.
• Participate in on-call rotation and after-hours service as needed.

Reports to: Drain Tech Service Supervisor Location: Westminster, CO

Wage Range: $24-33/hr. DOE + quarterly incentive program

Job Summary

We’re looking for a skilled Drain Technician with 2–3 years of hands‑on experience in drain cleaning and camera inspection. In this role, you’ll primarily serve commercial clients, with the occasional residential project, diagnosing and resolving drain issues using industry‑standard tools such as cabling machines, hydro jetters, sewer cameras, and pipe locators. You’ll play a key role in restoring proper flow, identifying root causes, and recommending effective solutions — all while delivering top‑tier service and professionalism on every job.

• Complete required service documentation accurately and on time
• Collect and record service fees when necessary
• Maintain safe work practices and follow MTech’s safety standards and procedures
• Represent MTech with professionalism and integrity on every job site
• Maintain required tools and PPE, arrive prepared, and support a productive job start
• Participate in on‑call rotation and be available for after‑hours service as needed
• Attend regular team meetings and ongoing training sessions
• Regular and predictable attendance is expected in order to meet the requirements of this position
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED
• 2–3 years of drain cleaning and inspection experience (preferred in a service‑focused role)
• Familiarity with equipment such as:
  • Cabling machines (e.g., Gorlitz, Spartan, Ridgid)
  • Hydro jetters
  • Sewer cameras and pipe locators
• Basic understanding of plumbing systems (we’ll train for growth!)
• Willingness to enroll in MTech’s accredited Apprenticeship Program
• Ability to lift, bend, kneel, and work in tight spaces as needed
• Clean driving record and ability to meet MTech’s driver standards
• Flexible and willing to work within the on‑call schedule

Physical Requirements

This position is a field base position. Due to the nature of the position, team members may be exposed to working outside and exposed to different weather elements, including cold and hot temperatures. They may also be required to work at heights in this position.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to:

• Be able to lift 50 pounds regularly and 75+ pounds occasionally
• Be able to lift, pull and push materials and equipment up to 50 pounds regularly and 75+ pounds occasionally to complete assigned job tasks
• Have full range of mobility in upper and lower body.
• Be able to reach overhead, including working with tools overhead
• Be able to work a full range of physical activity in various positions, including, but not limited to, stooping, standing, bending over, kneeling and squatting, climbing, walking for extended periods of time.
• Use hands and arms to:
  • Thread, cut, weld, braze, solder, and assemble pipe and duct work
  • Operate hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and other equipment
• Capable of hearing at a level or correctable to a level where the person is able to receive detailed information through verbal communication. Must be able to detect alarms and equipment sounds
• Vision must also be at a level or correctable level where the person has clarity both in short and long-distance vision
• Stand and walk for extended periods
• Handle heavy pipe, fittings, valves, tools, duct, hangers, and equipment
• Climb ladders, scaffolding, and stairs regularly
• Work and walking on uneven surfaces, elevated platforms, and confined areas at times
