Job summary

The Arc of Ocean County is hiring an experienced Direct Support Professional (DSP) to support adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities in residential settings across New Jersey.

You will work a full-time day shift (7:00 AM–3:00 PM) with starting pay of $20.70/hour and earning potential up to $22.70/hour with shift differentials and overtime.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of Direct Support Professional (DSP) experience.
• Medical case management experience required.
• Strong communication, teamwork and interpersonal skills essential.
• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Valid New Jersey driver’s license with up to 5 points.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct support in residential group homes, supervised apartments, and supported living programs.
• Assist with personal care, meals, medication support, transportation, and daily tasks.
• Encourage development of practical life skills and personal responsibility.
• Support individuals to meet goals in their individualized service plans.

Position Details

• Employment Type: Full-Time (40 Hours Per Week)
• Shift: 7:00 AM–3:00 PM

• Provide direct support to individuals living in residential group homes, supervised apartments, and supported living programs.
• Assist with personal care, preparing meals, medication support, transportation, household tasks, and other everyday living activities.

• Share relevant updates with supervisors and coworkers to help maintain continuity and consistency in services.

• Collaborate with Residential Services colleagues to deliver dependable, compassionate support.

• Apply your Direct Support Professional experience and medical case management knowledge to the day-to-day needs of the individuals receiving services.

• What You Need to Qualify
• Candidates must meet the following requirements:
• Be at least 18 years of age.
• Have a High School Diploma or GED.
• Have at least one year of prior experience as a Direct Support Professional (DSP).
• Have medical case management experience.
• Hold a valid New Jersey driver's license in good standing, with no more than five (5) motor vehicle points.
• Demonstrate strong communication, teamwork, and interpersonal skills.
