Job summary

The Arc of Ocean County is hiring an experienced Direct Support Professional to support adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities in residential settings across New Jersey. This full-time day-shift role offers meaningful, person-centered care and opportunities for growth.

Starting pay is $20.70/hour with earning potential up to $22.70/hour via shift differentials and overtime; Bi-Weekly pay. Locations include Toms River, Barnegat, Lacey Township, and Brick Township.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of prior Direct Support Professional experience.
• Medical case management experience is required.
• New Jersey driver’s license in good standing, with no more than five (5) points.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct support in residential settings (group homes, supervised apartments, supported living).
• Assist with personal care, meals, medication support, transportation, and daily living tasks.
• Encourage development of practical skills, healthy habits, and personal responsibility.
• Support participants in pursuing individualized service plan goals and celebrate progress.

The Arc of Ocean County is looking for an experienced Direct Support Professional (DSP) with medical case management experience to join our Residential Services team. In this role, you'll support adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities as they navigate daily routines, build practical life skills, make personal choices, and participate more fully in their communities.

Position Details

• Employment Type: Full-Time (40 Hours Per Week)
• Shift: 7:00 AM–3:00 PM

• Provide direct support to individuals living in residential group homes, supervised apartments, and supported living programs.
• Assist with personal care, preparing meals, medication support, transportation, household tasks, and other everyday living activities.
• Encourage the development of practical skills, healthy habits, personal responsibility, and sound decision-making.
• Help individuals work toward the objectives in their individualized service plans and acknowledge their achievements along the way.

• Share relevant updates with supervisors and coworkers to help maintain continuity and consistency in services.

• Collaborate with Residential Services colleagues to deliver dependable, compassionate support.

• What You Need to Qualify
• Candidates must meet the following requirements:
• Be at least 18 years of age.
• Have a High School Diploma or GED.
• Have at least one year of prior experience as a Direct Support Professional (DSP).
• Have medical case management experience.
• Hold a valid New Jersey driver's license in good standing, with no more than five (5) motor vehicle points.
• Demonstrate strong communication, teamwork, and interpersonal skills.
