About the Role

Heritage Reporting Corporation is seeking a skilled and certified Digital Court Reporter to join our team in Washington, DC. This is an exciting opportunity for a detail-oriented professional to play a vital role in the accurate capture and documentation of legal proceedings at the highest level.

Responsibilities
  • Operate digital recording equipment to accurately capture court proceedings, depositions, and hearings.
  • Monitor and manage multi-channel audio recording systems to ensure clear, uninterrupted sound quality.
  • Maintain detailed logs and annotations of speakers, exhibits, and proceedings in real time.
  • Produce and certify accurate transcripts from digital recordings in a timely manner.
  • Manage and archive digital audio files in compliance with court and agency standards.
  • Coordinate with attorneys, judges, and legal staff to ensure smooth proceedings.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical recording issues as they arise.
Requirements
  • Proven experience in digital court reporting or legal transcription.
  • Proficiency with digital recording software and courtroom audio equipment.
  • Strong knowledge of legal terminology, procedures, and courtroom protocol.
  • Exceptional listening skills and high attention to detail.
  • Ability to maintain composure and accuracy in fast‑paced legal environments.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills for transcript delivery deadlines.
  • Active AAERT or NCRA certification preferred or willingness to obtain in one month.
