Job summary

Sapp Bros, Inc. is seeking an experienced Diesel Mechanic Technician for the night shift to service heavy-duty trucks and trailers. You will diagnose, repair, and perform diesel maintenance, ensuring customer needs are met with professionalism and efficiency.

Responsibilities include tire work, replacing starters/generators, adjusting brakes, and performing emergency roadside repairs. We offer a safety-driven environment with clear opportunities for advancement and a competitive benefits package.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or GED required or preferred
• Minimum 18 years of age
• Valid Driver’s License with a good driving record
• Minimum 1 year of related automotive or diesel experience preferred
• Able to diagnose mechanical and electrical problems
• ASE Certification preferred
• Able to provide documentation establishing identity and eligibility to work in the United States
• Willingness to undergo background and employment reference checks

Responsibilities

• Inspect, diagnose, and repair mechanical, electrical, and other defects in heavy-duty semi-tractors and trailers
• Provide full range of diesel repair and maintenance services
• Ensure customer needs are met in a professional, timely, and efficient manner
• Replace and balance tires according to procedures
• Repair or replace starters, generators, and universal joints
• Adjust and/or replace brakes
• Discuss service problems with customers
• Perform emergency roadside repairs
• Assist in training and advancing other team members
• Operate service truck and provide roadside repairs including tires

Requirements

As a Diesel Mechanic, you must be reliable and hard working with strong mechanical and technical inclination. You must also be highly organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously. It is also important that you have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, a cooperative attitude, and a willingness to assist others.

Qualifications for the position include:

• High school graduate or GED, preferred
• Minimum 18 years of age
• Valid Driver’s License with a good driving record
• Minimum 1 year of previously related experience in automotive or diesel, preferred
• A combination of training, education, and/or experience equivalent to the standards set forth by Sapp Bros service center
• Ability to diagnose mechanical and electrical problems
• ASE Certification, preferred
• Ability to provide proper documentation establishing your identity and eligibility to be legally employed in the United States
• Willingness to undergo a criminal background and employment reference check
